I was having intermittent problems with popping in and out of 4wd when under load. I bought the trac a couple of years ago and didn't have a complete service history, and didn't change fluids like I probably should have when I first got it. Anyway, I thought maybe since the 4wd worked, but not well, I'd try the fluid change and see if it helped.
Today we had enough snow for me to try it out. There are a couple of hills that caused the in and out of 4wd problem, and when I hit them today, I floored it, and no problem. So replacing the fluid with synthetic multi-vehicle ATF seems to have fixed it for now. :exp:
