- 2002 Ford Explorer V6
Hello there!
I have a 2002 Ford Explorer V6, 4.0.
When I bought it, the prior owner said it was a Sport, I tried swapping out the servos with the ones from AJ1E with their upgraded servos, but sadly it didn't fix my issue, so I'm now searching for a replacement transmission to throw in.
I'm not sure which transmission I have.
The servo I pulled out was definitely for the Sport transmission, the 5R55E.
It's a remanufactured transmission.
The door sticker shows an R under TR on the door sticker, which indicates a 5R55W.
When I ordered the servos and gave my VIN to AJ1E, they sent me the servos for the 5R55W as my VIN apparently should have that and not the 5R55E.
When it comes to getting a new transmission in this case, do I need to focus on getting a 5R55E, or can i get a 5R55W/S?
Thanks!
