Transmission Trouble, seeking knowledge

I have an 02 Explorer EB
Symptoms: delayed shift from 2nd. to 3rd., like it is hung up on 2nd.
at times, when attempting to shift from 1st. to 2nd., it
feels like it shifts into Neutral.
Diagnostic Code that was read: P0733 - Incorrect Gear 3 Ratio
P1000 - Onboard Diagnostics II Monitor/
Drive Cycle Test not complete
Anyone have any ideas on what is causing this???

This sounds like the infamous 2-3 shift flare. Search for "shift flare", you should get a few hits on the topic.
