Warning sound when Explorer is started

Yup, it's 19. I'll check my clockspring if it's not that I need a new RCM

Also check the RCM ground. I'm not positive where the ground point for it is but believe it's under the center console near the RCM. Good luck, let us know how you make out.

Airbag warning light replacement

Sounds like replacing the burned airbag light on my 99 Explorer's dash might stop the annoying beeping (as opposed to the relatively benign seatbelt 'chime.)' Can this bulb (LED?) be replaced without deconstructing the dash? I had another solution in mind for the bleeping beeper but couldn't find it even after taking the radio out.

Your '99 may not be a LED. If it is, you do need to take apart the gauge cluster because it is soldered in there (well my in 02 it was anyway).

The beeping sound is coming from your GEM module which is on the left of the radio once you get it out. I wouldn't mess with it though because it controls a lot of things and cutting one wire to stop the beeping may make something else not work.

rrgone;

It was the clockspring that was causeing my airbag light problems.
