Werid Vibrations

I'm taking about werid vibrations. LOL I am having a problem with the Auto 4x4 feature on my 1998 explorer. when driving on snow or hard acceleration where is a vibration that travels through out the entire truck. Like a hard jittering. Now after some research here i found that your need to get your GEM reprograms or replace your speed sensors. I thought i would try changing my speed sensors frist and if that doesn't fix, Then i would reprogram the GEM. My question is if my Speed sensors need to be replaced wouldn't my speedometer not work? Is there a way to tell if its just the speed Sensors?

Am i waisting my time with the speed sensors and get the GEM reprogrammed? Or is it worth a try?
