Issues with my 2013 Explorer

I bought my car last year when the 2013's first came out. Since then I've had many problems with the car. Below are some of the problems. Anyone else having issues?

• Navigation
o Will show a black screen and will not go to the navigation maps
o Shows I’m on one street but not really on it.
o Time and temp does not match what’s on the dash
• Back-up Camera
o Doesn’t always come on, shows either home screen or a black screen
o When it does come on it will freeze as I’m backing up.
• Radio
o Won’t always let me switch the channel from the touchscreen have to use the steering wheel.
 Thursday night that didn’t even work. Channels would not change then all of a sudden just started changing back and forth between two channels. Did this for about 4 minutes.
o I’ll click it to switch to usb for my music on my phone and won’t always change.
• Sometimes it shows USB is connected but just silent
• Same with Bluetooth
• Also will show nothings connected when it is
• Phone
o Wont show the names for all of my contacts
o Hands free doesn’t work most the time.
o It will just randomly pick up hands free or drop it.
 The guy when I bought it said I could do texting through the nav even verified which phone I had and doesn’t work, never has.
o Won’t pick up the phone.
 Shows no phone is connected
o Phone will ring but I click to answer and it doesn’t answer.

We own a 2013 explorer and it hasn't experienced any of those problems. Now we don't have navigation, so we can't respond to your issues with it. Do you know what version of myford touch you have? I know since the 13's first started being built, there have been two updates to myford touch and the Nav system. Go to syncmyride.com and register if you haven't already and it will tell you what version you have and if you can upgrade your sytem with a USB stick or if you have to go to the dealer to get your system updated. I hope this helps out.

Have you seen your dealer? We have a 2013 Limited and do not have any of the issues you mention.

Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and then reconnecting it. It reboots the computers in the Explorer. There are other ways to reboot just the My Ford Touch computer - e.g., you can go into the settings and perform a Master Reset (which clears everything), you can pull fuse 29 (which is hard to find and reach) and you can go to www.outofmytouch.com and download the reboot tool (put it on a USB stick and it reboots your MFT). The benefit of the battery reboot is that it reboots ALL the computers in the Explorer, not just the MFT system - so if another component is causing problems, it will fix that as well. Normally, I'd just suggest the Master Reset or the USB stick, but you seem to be having quite a few problems.

As for the navigation, there is a technical service bulletin regarding that - the GPS unit needs to be recalibrated on 2013s.

Yea I've been to the dealership 4 times now. The last time I let them keep it for 4 days and they saw the issues but have still yet to be fixed. I even had one tell me, well the car does get you to point a and b. It's been pretty frustrating. The last update they did that they knew wouldn't fix it now messed up the clock, so it randomly changes times

I also have a 2013 Explorer XLT, We have problems with the back up camera not working some times & now when it does come on the image is reversed (the car to your left(driver side) is showing on the screen, on the right(pas side)). & the cd player skips on all cd's, The vehc is at the dealership right now.. & all they tell me is that they will have to replace the camera & radio....the camera it self is $340.00,, we didn't get to the radio... Does any one know of any fix for this?? thanks
