I know the battery is being charged by the alternator. I've had it tested and all is working well. Something else is pulling the charge out of the vehicle when not on. Some sort of faulty module or compnent. I just don't know how I could isolate the problem. Any tips appriciated. Thanks GB

okay, so I took the alternator back off and then removed the spring pully completely. It looks like it was just the casing that was a little lose. So i squeezed it back together and threw it back on with the rest of the parts. All seems fine and had the engine running and there is no movement on...

routing is correct. it's the pully i'm concerned about. Should there be any play in the lever? Is it worth me taking the lever out and trying to put attach it again or would that somehow mess with the springs?

The radio LED is a well known problem. Search the threads but you'll likely to need to either resolder the board or get a replacement board. I got another unit from a scrap yard. Much easier and less hassle. $40. You could also pick up a bug/ stone deflector from the scrap yard too if you wanted.

thanks for the advice all. I'll take you up on it and leave the project well alone. Had a couple of cracks grow on me in the last few weeks and it's going to need to be replaced in the spring summer. Until then, hopefully it won't get too much worse! GB

do you know if there are any threads on how to specifically do this? I have had a similar problem in the past, replacing the air filter seems to have helped a little, however what you mention above looks more specific to the issue. thanks gb
