Its finally time for BIG BLUE to get a winch bumper. This isn't like most you will see on here but I like how it turned out. I didn't want to go to over the top with a plate steal bumper up front and add a bunch of weight. There is already a 5.0 crushing the springs and mostly I wanted it to look as close to stock or some what hidden as possible. Check it out!

Here is how it started

With the bumper removed you can see the space I have to work with.

I welded the winch mount directly to the frame horns as far back and as high up as I could fit the winch without having to cut into the grill

Here the winch on the plate I remote mounted the control box to gain more room. The winch is a Bulldog 9300 Alpha.

The fairlead was cut into the stock bumper and reinforced on the back side between stock mounting brackets to hold in place. It fit pretty good and I didn't have to force the bumper out too far to get it all to work. The slot in the top of the bumper was cut to operate the winch release, worked out well. Also had to ditch the bumper dam no big deal there.

that looks awesome!

Good eye! I did, thats all it takes, lol.

I like it. I take it this is only possible because of the body lift right? I think I remember looking in to doing that but it wouldn't fit.

True without the 3" BL it would not have fit as it did

love it. very clean finished product. i have been thinking of mounting mine this way with a universal plate but i don't have a bl. I don't mind chopping up the grille though.

Looks great!!!

but it is going be hard to use with no cable coming out of your fairlead. :-)

That looks really clean, nice work.

Very awesome!

Have to say it looks even more ba in person.
