2000 Mounty
When I stomp on the gas and RPM"s exceed 3k, it sounds like a cat in trouble, but only when the EATC is set to "off". This has been "normal" for this truck since we got it.
Well, ok I switch between a couple functions and it stops the pathetic meow, it might do it on other settings.

The sound will occur even in neutral.Give her a good throttle blip and "sighmeowsigh" comes from the dash, behind the EATC control panel.

Has anyone encountered this?

I might add, when I first got this Mounty I used it to pull a trailer, and on one occasion during hard uphill acceleration the meow was followed by a CEL with a lean code. ( forget which one) but I replaced the fuel filter and have not seen this since, even while pulling a trailer.

the EATC module has a set of vacuum lines attached to the back of it. inside the module are 4 (i think there are 4) small solenoid valves. engine vacuum comes into the EATC module and is available for use by the solenoids depending on which function you've selected (in a manner similar to the manual HVAC controls). the solenoid valves have tiny o-rings inside of them. these o-rings eventually wear and can leak vacuum. perhaps that's where your meow noise is coming from... ? there's a company that will rebuild your module for around $100. or you can find them om ebay for around the same price.
