AIIIIGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!! The dark side has beckoned you!!!!

(Although there is a Sammy sitting down the road from me with a For Sale sign in it that I've been eyeballing)

I've updated the pics.. 3 more of the front end, with bald 36" swampers on it.

Brian - it's been close to a year since this plan hatched. Finally, I'm moving forward on it!

how long will it take ya till it is on the trail?

Allllrightee!

After our discussion last year at CCR I was wondering how long it would take for you to actually dive in and get started. I cannot wait to see it in action :)

Well, I too have joined the dark side :D . I picked this up this afternoon.

Those oversized ATV's really do rip it up on the trail. I didn't see any in Colorado when I was there but I didn't hit the trails on the weekend either. There is a group about an hour and a half from me and these guys are crazy.
www.rpm4x4.com if you need an idea or 2

I saw a couple of zuki's in action and they do really well when they are built up right.

hehehe.. it's touching the garage door:

Dead Link Removed

it's going to have:

toy axles (85 front, 86 rear)
YJ springs front/rear
Shackle Reversal in the front
ARB in the front
full detroit in the rear
5.29:1 gears
dual toy crawler case - front will be stock (2.4:1) rear will 4.7:1 for a 200:1 crawl ratio
35x12.50 Goodyear MT/R's
Toy IFS 4x4 power steering conversion
OTT high steer, using ES150 ball joints

and other stuff as I get to it..

I've added more pics to Dead Link Removed

Will it fit out of the door? Very nice looking project! Keep up the good work!

looking good tom. Cant wait to see you out wheeling again. Are you still taking it to tin bender to have a cage built? If you are let me know and ill meet you up there for lunch or something.

Matt

Matt - I'll let you know. I'd like to have Tin Benders do the cage, since they do SCCA stuff

Getting it out of the garage - yup, going to have to let the air out of the tires. that's why crap 36" tires are on it - I destroy them, I don't care!

Hey Tom,
It's looking good. I know you were talking to me about it at the last run we were at. Glad to see it is finally in motion. I know how hard it is for you just to ride along.

Here is our new toy, do you think it has potential??
Actially it is going to be our daily driver. It's just a lot easier for me to get in and out of then the Escort Teri drives.

That doesn't mean we can't go out and have some fun with it. The four wheel LOW is a LOT better then the Explorer that's for sure.

thats ok, I'm a traitor as well. After all I dont even own anything that resembles an SUV! I'm stuck with my measley 5.4L V8 and the ability to run 34" tires on stock suspension, darn me! LOL.

One major difference.... Tom can still wheel with what he has :p

Looks nice Tom. Do you think your crawl ratio is low enough though? :) I hope to see you down at t-haven next year.

Hey Matt, bring that f150 on out when the zuk is finished. I'm sure I can get it up into the bed of that thing.. :)

Crawl of 200:1 enough? I hope it is. 40:1 sucked, 80:1 is good, 120:1 isn't too bad, but 200:1 well be really, really nice! :D
