Hey, well i'm glad this club is a go. Since it might be a while till we can all meet at a off road trail and spend a day on a trail. I thought we should all meet some where on Sat. June 2nd and check out each others rides and maybe swap ideas and have the first unofficial So Cal Explorer meeting. We just need a location and time. So lets here some ideas on where and what time. Should we meet somewhere public or maybe somebody's house?
Just an idea. Let me know what you guys think.
This sounds like a great idea. I also think it would be good to meet somewhere just to get this going. I vote for a nice eatery somewhere in the middle. I'm in the Corona-Riverside area.
Hey sweet, a so-cal club! I'm assuming the meeting on June 2nd didn't happen (which is good since mine is still in the shop until Wednesday). Anyway, I'm all for a meeting somewhere, but I live in the Ventura County area. Maybe somewhere in the Valley would be a good compromise for everyone...
Well I have not heard from rick yet about the Big Bear Trip on July 21-22. We do need to have a meeting and probably around the end of this month. How about either the 23 or the 30 of June. As far as a place put down a city and a place in that city and we will figure it out from there. If we do it on a satrday there is a cool classic car show at a place called Fudruckers. Great place to eat too and easy to find since it is right off the freeway. Well give your input and well figure out a date and place.

I think June 23 is far enough in advance that everyone can be notified and plan for it, June 30 might not be a real hot one because it is a little close to the 4th of July and people might be making plans.
And it might get the attention of the other 30 million explorer owners that are in this state, I swear no matter where I go I can see at least 10 more around me, mostly driven by middle age soccer mommies 99% of which could care less about "silly boys" (A soccer mommmy actually called me that one day) and their trucks.
Offroadin44, I don't know if Ray Hutchinson has gotten back to you yet about the Big Bear Bash run in July 21-22, but if you want some info here it is.
The run is done in the area called Crab Flats, it is also considered a Black Diamond run which means Virgin beginners are discouraged. This area has a lot of rocky spots so it will test your rock crawling abilities. I have done this run many times and it's a fun run. The cost is $85.00 per vehicle (one or two people) before June 9. After June 9 the cost is $102.00. An $18.00 per additional passenger. It is a camping trip so you will need your camping equipment for one nite.
You will need to get in contact with Don Carter at 949-492-5414 who usually leads this run (which Ray H. is helping him out) and register your name. You can also e-mail him at AKABIGRED@aol.com. Your check should be made out to Harry Lewellyn and sent to his address at 2234 Catherine Place, Costa Mesa, CA. 92627-1815. Harry Lewellyn is the owner of the Ecological 4Wheeling Adventures who puts on these great run's.
You can also call him at 949-645-7733.
Hope this helps you and anyone else who wants to go.
Fudruckers is off of the 210 Freeway in Pasadena. Take the Michalinda exit. If going west go straight ahead off of the off ramp into the Sears parking lot cant miss it. If going east take a left off of the offramp and then another left on michalinda under the freeway and another left onto Foothill to get into the parking lot. Fudruckers is on the corner of Michalinda and Foothill. Great classic car show. If we have it there we will not be able to park in with the classic cars but right out side of the roped area next to it. I used to take my 67' cougar up there before I sold it.
Offroadin44.
Then again that is about 10 miles from my house, I guess no matter where this happens at someone is going to have to do some driving. Pretty much anywhere from ventura to sandiego suits me.
Im thinking 6:00 PM the show starts at 4:30 and goes till about 8:00 and 6:00 is when it really starts to get crowded. As far as all parking together if someone wants to get there a little early and help me reserve some spots that would help. If this is the last time you read this thread before we meet then 6:00 and I will have my 5' CB whip ontop of my car so look for it (may have a little red flag on it too). Hope to see you there!!!!
