02explorer dreaded 4X4 control module

Guys,

Has anyone replace there 4x4 control module and have to get it reflashed at the dealer? I called a few dealers and said it would need to be reflashed. is this really true???? I am have a hard time beleiving this. What's your thoughts.

i just ordered mine from Bob Utter for 183.00. Way better than any stealer ship around my area.

Nah the 4x4 module dosen't need to be reflashed. I replaced ours on our 02 a couple years back. It is righ behind the glove box attached to the blower motor. I just unlpugged the old one and plugged in the new one. That easy.

Perfect thanks. It looks like the dealers want that 1 hours worth of labor(@ $75.00 per hr) to do really nothing. that really gives me a warm fuzzy!!!!!

Just got my new 4X4 CM. Installed in 15 minutes and 4wd works perfectly. here is the revised p/n for the CM for an 02 P/N 1L2Z7E453A. No reflash needed. thanks.
