have a 1996 explorer xlt 6 cyl auto transmission - not a full time 4x4
lately there has been a "clunk" when accelerating - but only at medium speeds
can feel the clunk coming from the center of the rig - clunk goes away after reaching speed
clunk is not felt at highway speeds
local ford dealer says i need a new transfer case and the existing transfer case is "attempting to put into 4 wheel drive"
anyone know of a different fix for this?? thanks
