2004 Explorer 4wd issue.

My Explorer won't shift into 4x4 Auto. It will shift into 4x4 Low and 4x4 High. When I push the 4x4 Auto button it still feels like 4x4 High.

The 4WD indicator light goes off when I shift to 4x4 Auto after several trys (button pushes) but flashes off/on intermittently after a short period of driving and the car never feels like it shifts out of 4x4 High.

Any help diagnosing is appreciated.

Are you switching it in
Neutral, i think it Will only go from 4low or high to 4 auto in neutral
