2009 Explorer XLT - Keyless entry.

Purchased used 2009 XLT. Owners wallet card w/ 5 digit security code is missing. Does anyone know where is the computer module located? The code is supposed to be printed there. Thanks in advance.

I think on an '09 they pretty much have you by the short hairs. Dealer can hook it up and get it. The '09 doesn't have a central security module, where the code is on older models. Now it's all through the SJB, Smart Junction Box.

If I understand the method above, I think I organized the numbers better so all you need to do is go one line at a time, and lock and unlock the doors after each line. Let me see if this will post correctly.

Hm, the code for my car now has been splitted into two pieces. Two numbers at the end of the line, the other three in the next line. Just between lock and unlock manually. Will no more work for me.
After lock and unlock you have to use the last four numbers agin.

Lukas....I copied the last 5 numbers from one line to the next one so you'll always start over with the last five digits, are you SURE the setup won't now work? I'll need to re-think the setup if thats true.

And the last 4 numbers would be enough for the new line, when the last 5 don't work!

I'm glad you caught that! I would have been pissed at myself if I started running through them then realized what I did!

I made the lines 34 charachters long so it's just to the point that you need to cycle the door locks after each line. The good news with this is you can actually just do one line at a time and if it doesn't work, scratch it off. You can do a few lines at lunch, or whenever you get some time instead of working through the whole system until you find the right combo.

btw....I used a free text editor called crimson editor. It's free, and does column mode editing. I have used it for years!

I actually don't know that it is, but read that in several places so I didn't want to take a chance....now if it isn't that excersize was a waste of time for sure.

This definately worked! Took about 15 minutes last night, although my code was much closer to the bottom of the page than the top, but a bonus was that it was the factory code so I was able to program my own code in.

door keyless entry code

2007, mecury mountaineer, ford explorer, door keyless entry code is located on the fuse panel under driver side dashboard, it is called SJB smart junction box, it is a 5 digit code printed about 1 inch from the bottom of the fuse block, you can not see the number off hand because it faces the metal frame of the car. stick your cell phone between the car and the fuse panel and start taking pictures! here is a picture.

I used my camera like this to get the code printed on the sticker. (Note this is just an example; this explorer did not have a keypad option so there is no 5 digit code on this sticker but it would be there if it did)

here is another picture on an 07, I think after 07 they went to the sticker method.

this picture was taken again near the e-brake pedal. I blured out the rest of the code.

2009 Explorer Keyless entry

I have a 2009 Explorer for my work car. No one knew the code for the keyless entry and there were no useful posts for a 2009. Except for the one on this forum. I printed out the code sheet by NCcarguy from 2010. Within 20 minutes I had the code. I skipped around on the lines on the first page and within 30 lines I had it. So it works. Thanks NCcarguy.
