Wanted 4WD help

Don't know if this is the correct place to post this or not. 1999 Ford Ranger 3.0L v6 Flex Fuel. 4WD is not engaging. have replaced the vacuum lines leading to the stems behing the wheels. But still no 4WD. I heard a clicking sound when I which to 4H as well as 4L. But the rear tires just spin. Any advise or help would be appreciated.

welcome. Can you remove the electronic shift control motor to verify operation?

If you hear clicking it is more than likely your t case shift motor.

The front axles on this vehicle are vacuum assisted. Check for any vacuum leak to the front axles. Explorer axles swap or there is a kit you can buy to replace the vacuum system.
