AWD to Electronic 4WD

Hi. I have a 2001 V8 AWD Xplorer. I was wondering what all is involved or is it even possible to convert my full-time 4WD/AWD to the Electronic/on-demand 4WD. I have read posts about converting to the 4406 manual shift transfer case but is there one using the shift motor that I could swap in? I found the pigtail and connector that goes to a 4WD selector switch already installed and clipped to my radio bezel. I'd appreciate any advice.

Yes it's possible, it's been done a couple of times by members here on the forum.
