Bad Erratic Misfire/Not Spark Plugs

The flashing warning light is the notification of excessive misfire. I suggest that you add a bottle of Techron fuel injector cleaner to the fuel tank if you haven't already done so. You might try cleaning the electrical contacts on the crankshaft position sensor by disconnecting and reconnecting the connector. Also, check the electrical connector and wiring to the #5 fuel injector. If none of the above helps perform a compression test and compare cylinder 5 to other cylinders. It can take 200 miles of driving for the Techron to clean the injectors.

Are there any other cylinders with reported misfires? Your engine has a waste spark ignition system. The cylinders are paired. When a cylinder fires on the compression stroke its pair fires on the exhaust stroke. If there were a PCM problem or an electrical wiring problem between the PCM and the coil pack, two cylinders would be affected.

If there is a mechanical problem in cylinder 5 (broken valve spring, burned valve, piston hole, thrown cam follower, etc.) it will be reflected in the compression test. If the compression is good, you could have a plugged or sticking open fuel injector.
