crown vic 5.0/explorer 5.0

just need to swap engines my explorer has a bad head gasket its a 97 5.0 and i have a 92 crown vic with a 5.0 the vic is a future derby car what is the difference between the two just for a motor swap

As far as a long block swap that should work.

The issues are going to be more associated with the wiring harness, sensors and PCM.

The heads are different, GP40 vs GP40P which has slanted plugs and may cause exhaust connection issues.
