Going to carb during rebuild of 5.0

I have a new 5.0 in my ex right now. I have the old one on pieces. I am going to rebuild the old one over time. I was wondering other than a new intake and a carb, distributor, what else would be involved with turning it into a carbed motor vs. the fuel injection?

My only concern would be parts interchanging.Will the intake and distributor fit.I simply don't know if they are different engines internally and whether there is a distributor drive gear.

If there is it would probably be easier to run an aftermarket distributor that had everything self contained and only needed 12 volts.Like the GM HEI style.

I saw the guys on Horsepower tv do an LS1 injection to carb the other week. Was just wondering if it was possible with the 5.0.
