I bought a cut off valve yesterday... I want to shut the hot water off to the heater core....I'm sure my AC will be cooler if I do this..I think the hose coming from the water pump would be the one that feeds the heater core.. Is that correct?

or i guess i could use the valve to hook the hoses together and it circulate back through the block. Would that be better?

Probably better to circulate it so it doesn't act like a blocked heater core.

It's easy to bypass the heater core. Unhook the two hoses at the firewall, and join them together with a piece of copper (or whatever you want) pipe. Don't forget to cap the heater core also to keep crap out of it.
