Homemade shackles....

Here is a pic of my shackles.Tell me what you think..The plate steel is 5/16 x 2".The mounting holes are 8.5" center-center.The plate in the middle is 3/8 thick.My stock ones are 5.5 c-c so I am hoping to get about 1.5" of lift out of these.Does anyone know if this is right?

that sounds right. i think mine are are 8" hole to hole and i get just under 1.25" of lift. mine are homemade too. i have bds add a leafs but i only get about 1.25" from them. i plan on going back to stock with a full length add a leaf and hope to get at least 2." the shackles look really low with the body lift.
