I feel kind of stupid asking this question, but how do I tell if my 99 Mountaineer is a 2WD or an AWD? I assumed it was a 2WD but the other day when I changed the front brakes, I noticed that turning one wheel turned the other wheel also and got curious.

floor it from a dead stop and see if it hooks or spins lol.

Get under it and look for a front driveshaft coming out of the transfer case, a differential, cv axles (rods with big rubber boots on each end) ect.

Finally got a chance this morning to get under and look, based on what you said, I've got an AWD

I eventually want to do a TT and put warrior shackles on the back, anything I should look out for with it being an AWD instead of 2WD?

Nope. Exactly the same trucks.

Mine when it was 2wd with tt and shackles:

That chart is missing some values, my positions 6-7 are 55

Thanks Turdle, that's what I thought and made me wonder

Hey I didn't make the chart:D
