My Hood won't open??

Anything I can do to open it without takin it to the shop. I life the hood open lever but my hood wont pop open. Help!!

You can usually put your arm up between the grille and the radiator and reach the point where the cable pulls the latch. Try to hook your fingers around the cable and pull down until the hood pops.

are you able to "pop" it usin the lever in the truck.....
mine is becoming really hard to pull for some reason.....i think there is excess slack in the cable ..

Need 2 people to do this. One pushes down on the hood while the other pulls the lever inside. Then outside guy lifts the hood.
Also, how much are you pulling on the inside lever?
My 99 requires a really good pull for it to pop the hood open.

If steps 1,2,and 3 do not work.
With a little luck and skill
along with a 8mm socket on a swivel on an extension
you can weasle your way through the grille and unbolt the latch.
Not as easy as it sounds but it can be done.

Not on my X, but on my F150, I have to give a quick pull on the lever. I can pull it normally all day and it won't pop. Then I give a hard, quick pull and WaaLaa
