Hi, my name is Jason I'm new on here and I'm looking for some help.
I just recently got a 04 Mountaineer 4.6 it has 225,x.. miles on it has newer engine
This thing runs great while driving but at idle it almost feels like it has a miss???
It also has a faint knock to it??? The trans makes a rattling noise but I've heard its normal
Plus it shifts ok I'm not to worried about that. I am worried about the knocking and ruff idle.
I've pulled the plug on every cylinder one at a time and it doesn't seem to effect the knock
I have no codes not even pending ones fuel pressure is good no injector problems MAF sensor is clean no vacum leaks I'm lost the only thing I haven't done is compression test it.
On my scan tool I've done alot of graph testing can't find any thing. I'm stumped.
I'm a mechanic I have lots of experience but can't figure this out any help would be greatly appreciated BTW the knocking comes and goes one time I drive it it does it the next time nothing but always has ruff idle especially after idling for a few mins.
