I've got a '97 ranger that does not pull in drive. You can literally "feel" it slip into gear, but just won't quite pull. If I drop it into first, it will take off fine, and I can shift back into drive then and all shifts are fine. Once I come to a stop, same thing. Reverse works fine. It upshifts and downshifts fine. I've pulled the tranny out and tore it apart. No metal shavings, no burnt clutches, no broken pieces, no signes of getting hot anywhere. I feel like I'm going to do a basic overhaul for nothing. Any ideas while I"ve got it on the bench?? I just don't see anything wrong here. It's a 44 trans. Thanks
