I mentioned in another post. I replaced my 2002 liftglass due to the broken latch studs. But now my dilemma, the glass is out of a 2004 and the wiper motor has 5 wires (6 in the harness) but my 2002 only has 4 wires in the harness. I want to splice my old harness ends from the liftglass to the new one. But I am not sure if this is possible. Can the new style wipe motor be wired into the old harness or will I need to swap out the motors?

Are you sure there isn't an extra thicker gauge wire in the for the defrost? I ran into a similar issue going from 04 to 06 hatch. I'll add a link, I have the 04 wiring on there and it may help you.

I traced everything back. It is definitely the wiper motor. The defrost is only and larger gauge positive and negative wire. I just don't know if I can make the newer motor operate with what I have in the harness to the back or if I should just swap motors.
