I just received a water pump I ordered from rock auto. The outer box is fine but the water pump box had a hole from where the water pump was resting on. It made a hole in the inner box and I see a slight indent in the water pump case from that spot. I also see a chunk of the casing that looks like it was from the manufacture. Here are pics of the spots. I placed the gasket on it for a better look. Do you think this would be a problem when installed with leaking or should I reach out to them and get a replacement? The two spots I'm referring to I circled them. The red circles are the manufacture mark and the blue circle spot is where it was dent in

Looks like a practice porch pitch .

Probably ok , just file the burrs flush, if any, on mating surface. I think I see at least one. Emery board for fingernails will work if you work lightly, don't push

sandwich the gasket with a light coat of permatex ultra and you will be just fine, that is very minor
