Isn't it just like any other engines on the Explorer? If so, the usual "mods" will probably apply. Break out the welder and make some headers, bump up the exhaust diameter a bit, pulleys, e-fan, air filter with more surface area, and so on and so forth.

But I guess it's possible you meant it the original way.....
And yeah, software mods on new engines are really where the biggest bang for the buck is. The old school hot-rodder techniques of bolting on performance doesn't get you nearly as far as it did back up until the 90's.
