and for METTLER how are you so shure i cant afford to fix it?

i cant get a proffessional to look at it because i cant afford that, thats why im askin because i have to do the rebuild myself

If you can't understand that reving the motor to 4000rpm and droping it into gear WILL destroyed your transmission. Then what makes you think you can do the rebuild yourself?

Why do i have the sudden urge to beat my head against a wall after reading this thread?

haha yeah im felling the same way afer reading it except i made the mistake of posting too.

i keep reading the updates on this thread for the simple fact of the enjoyment and laughs and the pain that poor tranny is going through.... beings i just got done swapping a4ld's and mine i didnt do anything like that with just moderate wheeling!!!!! whoops did i finally actually post to this too LOL

Yeah it just amazes me what people will do to their vehicles. I mean seriously wtf makes someone to that to their poor explorer.

Is this an early April fool's Joke?

It's gotta be. No one this ignorant about an Al40d would tow 6000lbs with it, and also think he can rebulid it.

If not, what a moron!

im leaning more to the moron part... all i did was drive my X and i still have trans problems. never would i or hopefuly anyone else ever do that to there X. its common sense, when you do stupid things like that no matter what type of vehicial it is yur going to have major probs.

C'mon man, common sense. Sorry to hear about your problem but also, if your gonna be dumb you gotta be tough, if you play hard, you pay hard.:salute:

Your first problem is how you drive. It's an explorer not a tank. you can't slam it in gear at high RPM's that will burn everything up in it. From what I've read you said sounds like slamming it in gears have burned everything inside it from the bell housing to the tail shaft. you can try rebuilding it or replacing it but it will do it again until you learn how to drive a automatic. (DON'T SHIFT WHEN THE RPM'S ARE HIGH!!!!) Thanks for the laugh though I laughed all the way through this one lol

i think hes messing with us. i baby my explorer i want it to last me. hes young let him learn from his own mistake.

by saying i cant afford to have a mechanic fix it is different than me fixing it

mechanic=1000+ me=500- big difference there pal

im probably gonna get one from pick and pull for i think 79$. theres like 20 explorers in their yard so im probably gonna find a good one.

Pizza dump clutch!!!!! Tooo funny!!!

I can tell you your problem right now:

I understand young and having a heavy foot (I do)

But pizzares a line between heavy foot and just no sense or care for your vehicle whatsoever.

This guy is so far past that point it amazes me, I lauged so hard when reading this, yet felt horrible for his poor explorer.

YOU DO NOT USE AN AUTOMATIC LIKE A MANUAL! YOU DONT DUMP pizza CLUTCH! And when your hearing weird noises, STOP! BECAUSE THAT MEANS SOMETHINGS WRONG/BROKE!

----------------------------------------------

AHHHHH!!! TOO FUNNY !!!! PIZZA HEAD....

WELL EVERY ONE .. I MUST REFER YOU TO ONE OF MY RECENT THREADS I HAVE STARTED...PLEASE READ.....

http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2512656#post2512656

AND PLEASE LAUGH...I ALSO HAVE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS....:salute:.. I KNOW HOW ABUSIVE I AM TO MY X...... BUT THIS DUDE TAKES THE CAKE.. PIZZA DUMP CLUTCH!!!! I LIKE THAT ONE.

PIZZA HEAD YOU HAVE GOT TO CHECK OUT THE CARNAGE PICTURES...ON MY THREAD SO FAR.. NOT PICTURES MY TRANSMISSION YET....BUT YOU WILL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO SEE WHAT A PIZZA DUMP CAN AND WILL DO TO THE INTERNALS OF THE A4LD TRANSMISSION OR ANY AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FOR THAT MATTER.

ALL OWNERS OF THE 91 - 94 EXPLORERS.... MY PLANS ARE TO TAKE FULL PHOTOS OF ALL BREAK DOWN STEPS TO THE A4LD TRANSMISSION. YOU MAY FIND THIS USEFUL DURING YOUR OWN REBUILD OF THE A4LD. TAKE IN MIND I AM NOT TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST. JUST SOME DUDE WITH A BIT OF COMMON SENSE AND MECHANICAL KNOW HOW.

PIZZA HEAD IF YOUR GOING TO DO ANY MORE PIZZA DUMPS AT 4000 RPM PLEASE HAVE A FRIEND RECORD IT FROM OUT SIDE THE VEHICLE AND YOU TUBE THE FOOTAGE... THEN MAKE A THREAD THAT STATES TOTAL JACK A## FOR ALL TO SEE.
WE ALL LOVE ENTERTAINMENT.. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT DOESN'T AFFECT OUR POCKET BOOK OR VEHICLE.
SH## I HAD RATHER JUMP MY TRUCK SIX FEET INTO THE AIR AND PAY FOR DAMAGE I INCUR IN THE PROCESS AT LEAST ANY ONE IN THE TRUCK HAD A BLAST.
THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN UN-NECESSARY STUPIDITY AND I HAD A GOOD TIME STUPIDITY WHICH IS MORE OF MY CASE:D.

THANX EVER ONE FOR ALLOWING ME TO RAMBLE ON... DONT FORGET TO CHECK OUT THE LINK TO MY THREAD.. IT WILL BE WORTH IT.

So I was revving my engine to about 5500 for about a minute then slammed it into overdrive to burn out and then heard a huge snap...What do you think broke?

Haha JK I would never ever do that to my engine, but a kid down the street was given a mustang by his dad and was saying how it was fun to rev it and then slam it into drive and I spent a good thirty minutes trying to get him to understand that it wasn't good on it

typical red@#$% in a poor town = no common sense

just drive into a big ol hole set-er on fire , donate-er it to the monster truck rallys let them just run over it and crush it ..

Lol...I want to comment about this...but really I don't need to.

in basic broken down english.

IF YOU PUT YOUR TRUCK IN "N" AND PRESS THE FAR RIGHT PEDAL, THAN MOVE THE STICK THING TO "D", IT WILL HURT THE THINGIE MOBOBBER UNDERNEATH YOUR TRUCK, AND IT WILL CEASE TO MOVE. THERE BY GIVING YOU A 5000 POUND PAPER WEIGHT.

I suggest Flushing the fluid, and filter. Checking the stuff under the truck (PROBABLY BY LOOKING AT IT!)

Good luck :)

but i towed a 2000lbs trailer with a 4000lbs truck on it on a 15 hour drive to south FL so the fluid is a bit burnt

Wow, 6,000 lbs for 15 hours...That's bad enough on a 4.0L tranny not to mention dropping the clutch on an auto

Ok guy. Let's stay on topic and quit the fighting. I'm not reading all the posts and will shut it down if the "this is funny" and "don't rev the tranny" comments continue.

If ya wana help him fix his problem post up, if not, simply move on please.
