Turning green like a 10cent ring

I want to take off my explorer emblem in the rear because the crome is flaking and its turning green. Does anyone know of a safe way of poping them off? I dont want to it to break or scratch my paint.

I'm planning on painting it.

you can use a hair drier to heat the glue and then fishing wire slip it underneath and wiggle it back and forth and pull it off.

Either fishing line, or a nylon zip tie. Use a sawing motion to break the adhesive loose, then scrape the remaining adhesive off with your fingernail, or something soft like a plastic knife from a burger joint. A little mineral spirits or similar mild solvent will clean off the remaining goo.

Tip: Do it when your vehicle is dirty. Use the dirt line as a guide to install the new one straight.
