Hi I was just wondering if it is at all possible to turn off the check engine warning light (shaped like an engine) as mine is on but i think that i know what caused it. :rolleyes:

Turn it off by fixing the problem. Gotta find a code scanner and pull the code(s).

Thought that only worked on OBD I? Anyways, if it's a continuing problem it'll keep coming on.
 






Yeah i think Expo is right, try disconnecting the battery first and if it keeps coming on you might have to have someone with a code scanning to turn it off.
 






I know that disconecting the battery doesnt work.
 












Thanks for the offer but I have some freinds who work for a ford dealer its just that its awkward sometimes for them to borrow the computer. I am in no rush any way as i am prety sure that i have to change the upper inlet manifold gasket and O rings. It looks a fairly straight forward job.

ps. how much was your code reader and does it clear the fault codes to?
