I’m an aspiring software engineer who’s probably a little bit on the spectrum. I got my 2001 Ford Explorer Sport for free from my grandfather some time before I got my license. When I got my license, it had sat for at least a year not being driven much. When I got to start working on it, it wouldn’t start. I was told by the people around me that it was likely the starter. So we ordered a new one and I replaced it. Turns out, the battery installed by the previous owner was also too small. This car having problems when I got it is what got me into anything automotive. It allowed me to jump into everything and just learn.
