hi, after searching and reading around, i believe ive figured which route im going....

Performance Accessories 3" body lift (summit racing item# PA853)
Then the 2" suspension by tightening the thing in the front, but i dont know where to buy the equipment for the back....can anyone give me a link or information where i can find the shackles and such?

As far as wheels, i think im going with the mickey thompson classic ii's.
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=MTT-350421&N=120+303838

would this bethe correct fitting and all to run 32's or 33's?

if anyone has anything to throw in, please do, thanks.

What he said ^ Should be a nice combo.

thanks.....have a website or phone # for the place i need to call?

also, the wheels are the right offset and should work fine with 33's?

www.4wheelparts.com the phone number is on there backspacing says 5/8 so basically same as 3/4 people recomend, so yea i say you should be set, just dont be afraid to trim the fenders a bit if you get any rubbing

Sounds like a nice set up. My cousin just did the TT and Shackles. It looks real nice and a pretty good ride.

Hi guys, I also have a 97 Eddie Bauer, I am thinking to lift it as well

You mentionned those modifications:
-Performance Accessories 3" body lift (summit racing item# PA853)
-Then the 2" suspension by tightening ...

I have 2 questions, first will the first kit from Summit racing will be compatible with my Air ride system? will I have to desactive it with the rear switch?

Is the kit fully bolt on? how long can it take to install so I have an idea?

Third, what is the 2nd modification to gain 2 more inches?

I appreciate your help guys, thanks alot

Question 1: This kit just simply lifts the body off the frame 3 inches. I would not think it would have any affect on your air ride. Fairly bolt on but unless you are decent with a wrench and have lots of time I would let some else install it.
Question 2: For the 2 inch suspension you will need to crank your torsion bars up 2 inches and order the Warrior shackles for the rear product #war153.
Any other questions just ask man. Good Luck.

bringin this back up cuz im interested in doing it again.....

im rolling with everything stock now and 27" inch tires...

im getting 22mpg highway....

how is all of this going to affect my gas mileage?

Doesn't really matter exactly how much lift -- it's the tire size that kills it all. But when you lift, the air resistance is greater and will cause u to use more "engine" to get to where you want to be. Most people regear to help out gas mileage!

EDIT: I get about 14-15mph with big 33's and 7" of lift!

i was probably going to go 31's or 32's.....so i should be alright, hopefully.

thanks.

what gear ratio are you running right now? if its less than 3.73 you can kiss those 22 mpg goodbye

whatever came stock..... 97 XL.

31's with 5" of lift will look rather silly ;)

Yep. Before I regeared to 4.56's I was getting about 10 mpg with 33's and 3.73's.

how much are gears? where can i buy them?

what kinda mpg you getting now?

gears are easy to find. i got ford factory 4.10's with 3,000 miles on ebay for 120 bucks, i think most of the time they are around 150-175 and i have gotten quoted at 175-250 for the install

not sure what milage ill get because i havent installed them yet but it should be better than about 12mpg with a v6, 3.55 ratio and 32's which is what im getin now

how do i know which gears are compatible to be swapped into my rearend?

anyone with 33"s gettin 20+ mpg?

To regear my rig was a bit costly

I had Yukon 4.56 gear sets put in front and rear as well as an Eaton E-Locker. Cost was bit over 2k.

As to mileage........
Before regearing I was lucky to get 12 mpg

After gearing I average around 15-16 in city and occasionally hit 20 on the freeway
