Well guys, when I get bored and want to tinker on the Explorer, I usually head to the cheaper stuff I can do to it...especially when I'm in the doghouse with the wife over spending too much on my "boy toys" as she calls them.
I just finished installing another set of the Autovation "4x4" billet pedals, along with matching heel guards for the mats. I also had some old Mustang AC knobs that fit the overhead AC panel real well.
What I need are the billet knobs for the lower AC panel. Does anybody make them yet? I can't seem to find any from all my usual places, mainly UPR products.
BTW, anybody here been using those Autovation heel guards? They are new, but I took the discount offered when buying my new pedals. They just came today and look pretty nice. I'm just wondering if they will stay looking nice and not end up all scratched up.
Let's see,.....I have to come up with a way to hide the receipt for the jug of Mobile 1 syth oil I got today?? She'll love that one :(
Also, she hasn't found my Ebay win for the class III hitch. Can you tell I'm asking for trouble?
I would like to spruce up the interior a bit more though. It just seems so boring.
So far, the billet pieces I have found to fit are:
-12V outlet covers (front and rear, engraved with "12V")
-upper console AC control knobs
-Radio volume knob (they offer a complete billet faceplate for the CD6)
-Driving pedals
-floormat heel pads

Other items available??????

I got those billet floor mat thingys in this morning. I'm not sure if they are a keeper or not. They are definitely secure on the footing...they aren't going anywhere the way they are mounted. They feel good underfoot, now it's just the looks.
In "real life" they don't stand out so brite like they do in the photos. The flash was on and that really make the bright metal stand out against the black mats.
Comments and suggestions more than welcome. I'm really enjoying my new Explorer. It's so different from my old 99 XLS ohv.
