3rd seat

Hi

I will be buying a 2003-2005 Explorer soon to replace my 95.Just missed one by3.5 seconds on ebay last night!My question is,I would pefer to get one with the 3rd row seat.But if I come across a deal on one without the seat is it possible to get the seat from a boneyard and install it in one that does not ? What is in place of the 3rd seat in ones without ? storage?

Anything is possible.
Couple things to note, You will need....
1 - the 3rd row seat
2 - its mounting brackets
3 - if your 2nd row seats don't fold AND flip forward to allow access to the 3rd row you'll need the 2nd row brackets too
4 - the 3rd row seatbelts
5 - the rear plastic panels for each side that allow for the seat belts

Sometimes on ebay you will see 3rd row seats for sale.
Last week there was a whole set. 1st, 2nd and 3rd for a couple hundred bucks. no other parts though.

Just a flat floor I would assume like the 2nd gen explorers. Maybe a storage compartment.

I would try to find one that has it from the factory. You are going to likely spend more money and a lot more aggravation adding it.
