blake u got aim or yahoo

i got aim bro but i havent been on it forever. why?

i got aim if u wanna chat

nah

just drilled an extra hole in my frame and got some grade 8 bolts and mounted them up.

Nice, I know how those mount on an Expedition but how did you get them on your frame?

just like he said, it's really easy i got a pair of them off a expy in a junkyard and i had them on in an hour.... the hardest part was drilling through the frame with a half inch masonary bit :banghead:

Gordon - did you have any trimming that you had to do to get them to fit on with the bumper? i had to trim both sides a little bit so that they hooks would slide through.

yeah a butt load of trimming but i dident care because im gonna get a custom front bumper within the next few months.

Daang. What would be the cleanest way to trim the bumper, or not have to trim at all? If/when I go to do this, is the 1/2 inch masonry bit the best way to go or would you do it differently in hindsight? My mom's got an Expedish also with the exact same hooks.

I have a 97 so my front end is different in so far as bumper openings. so it was a little easier for me then it will be for you. but i would suggest on getting two 1/2 metal drill bits. the reason i used a masonary bit was we broke all the other ones, and we also had to pilot before the masonary bit so it was just a cluster of not goodness. so if you want to do it. go out and get 4 grade 8 bolts, 2 grade 8 flat washers, 4 grade 8 nuts, and two 1/2 metal bits, or one (i say two because we dulled all ours up pretty fast trying to get through the frame) and then go to town. it shouldn't be all that hard. but you may want to ask gordon for a better picture of how he trimmed seeing as he has the correct front end set up for your truck.

haha well i dident really think that deeply into it, me and my buddie were just chillin in my garage and i was like dude i want those tow hooks so we just did it. i just used the hole that was alredy in my frame and had to drill 1 more on each side than i cut the little tab on the end of my frame so i could get my hand in there to hold the bolt. and i just used a saw to cut up my bumper. it only took like 30 mins
