Liftgate Speakers!

So the other day, my friend was showing off her new Dodge Caliber. It was nice, especially those foldable speakers in the liftgate!

I think it would be really nice to have those in an explorer, especially since it would good for the beach and stuff.

As of right now they are about half-way done and almost fully-functional!

Nice work there.
People have always talked about doing something this, but I have never seen it applied. There is certainly plenty of room back there. Just be careful that the extra weight you are throwing in don't prematurely wear down you rear door shocks.

Other than that, it looks good. Keep posting updated pictures of when this is finished.

I saw an alternative to something like this...
Someone (I can't remember what they were in) had a modified pivoting bracket with a two position lock on it. (Best thing like it I could descibe would be like a wake board rack)mounted to in the inside ceiling of the vehicle. When they were in the car drviing, the speakers could face forward. And, when they were tailgaiting and partying, the speakers could be rotated to face out of the back of the rear cargo door.
