Can anyone answer a few questions for me? I'm looking at ordering a sport does it not come with the power fold seats or power tilt steering? Also why cant I select the second row console? Any help would be appreciated thanks.

No power fold seats, no second row console option, It has memory seats and mirrors, I would think it has a power tilt steering wheel, but there is no option for heated steering wheel.

The trade off from limited to sport is more power and performance, less luxury. This is how they kept the prices similar.

Power tilt/telescoping steering column is listed in the 402a package for the sport

well, my two cents (not that you asked for it ;) ) ...

The third row power seats are kind of a pain in the butt. The manual versions are much easier/faster to arrange, and you don't have to worry about anyone/thing accidentally changing their position.

The second row center console would be a nice option if you have to get bucket seats, but if you choose the 60/40 bench it has a fold down center portion with cup holders and an arm rest. On top of that the bench can fold down completely flat w/ no gap in the center.

So if those are your only two "luxury" gripes about the sport, then I'd say you're better off choosing power. Most people's complaints about the luxury missing are from things like active park assist, heated steering wheel, etc. You don't seem to be concerned about those things.

The other big difference with the sport is it has a sport suspension. While not "uncomfortable" it definitely won't be as comfortable and cushy rolling down the road as the limited, it's designed for a more sporty feel and better handling.

Thanks for your 2 cents. Those are both valid points. I'm just looking for the kids to get into the third row easier with the buckets. On the other hand it just showed a 60/40 fold down second row now fold down arm rest. Now I'm really confused. Lol

See the image below of the second row. You'll notice the center has the little fold down arm rest in the middle.

The bench seats fold all the way forward to give easy access to the third row seating (see picture below, I don't think it's an explorer, but our seats tumble up exactly like this)

Also keep in mind that the center seat in the bench style seat is for someone with a narrow butt. We figured this out on a trip to the coast. It is very uncomfortable for a normal adult.

By narrow butt, you mean someone with a 9 inch wide butt right? I measured it. Between the two fixed buckles on the air seat belt models, there is a whopping 9 inches. By daughter's teddy bear fits there nicely!!

Oh, I agree with 13sport. Don't get the power fold seats. I had to put a cover on the fold buttons because any bag of groceries or whatever is placed back there will accidently activate them all the time. The manual one's fold really easily. Has anyone had a chance to ride in a sport model? How firm is the suspension?

Yeah that is for sure. We had to have people sit on pillow to keep their butts above the seat belts. It was a 5 hour drive and thank goodness I was driving.

The HID Auto Dim Headlights and possibly the lane keeping assist would have been nice. Power won out for me though. Didn't care too much about the other stuff.

Wow. Came very close to getting the bench. Thought I could get 2 car seats and an adult on that second row. Now I'm happy I went with the buckets. I'll do some kind of mod to get a center console for armrests.

Looks like we're in the same boat.

For me, it will come down to convincing my wife that the power in the engine is a higher priority than the power in the the third row seats. :)

And I suppose the deal that I can swing with the dealer. BTW, if I'm swinging the deal, am I not technically a dealer too? Could be a showdown. Thus far, the best I've received is $500 over invoice on the Sport - still looking to firm this up as this was just over email. And with rebates, that could be a very nice deal.

Any thoughts? :feedback:

You should be able to get closer to invoice than $500. You can always join an organization that makes you eligible for X Plan, which will be close to invoice and also caps doc fees.

Thanks. Now I just have Have the wife decide between the power or the luxury.
Here are a few more details on the Sport, F150eco:

You can also show your wife this Sport video :):

When you place the order, be sure to get your order number and send it to me (along with the dealer info) via PM. I’ll gladly keep tabs on the updated status.

Thanks WiEx. I would normally think so but I've had one dealer tell me in early discussions that they won't really negotiate off of MSRP as they only receive one Sport for every 10 Exs sold. And the general tone from two dealers now is that this is a very limited supply, high demand vehicle so they can afford to tell me to stuff it.

I'd think it would be different if I'm pre-ordering and not buying a car from their inventory.

Thanks Cory. Very nice summary. And based on the video, the Sport just looks like a car I need to own. I PMed you with a couple of questions if you don't mind.
You got it, gobronx; I had a strong feeling it would be (but I’m a little biased ;)). I don’t mind, as long as you’re OK with a little waiting: My inbox has been swamped since the weekend, so I’ll shoot a reply in the next day or so. :)

Sounds like a typical car dealer with a new toy to sell. Dealers will probably try to get close to sticker or over if they can for the first ones. If I had a dime for every time I heard the " high demand, limited supply story from a dealer I would have enough for a new sport ex.

Initially these will be in short supply until all the buyers that are drooling over the sport get one. Then they will be on the dealers lots with the same discounts as all the rest of the ex's. Would love to have one of the first ones on the street, but think I will wait until some of the excitement dies down.
