Ok, so since my move to Australia i have not been able to indulge in cars the way i was able to, back in the UK.... But here is my current fleet:

The Explorer (just purchased) 1998 4.0 SOHC
Bought a tandem Kayak and some camping/beach equipment, so needed something to transport it all - and this was only $2750 (Australian dollars) so it seemed rude not to....

I had to have something European and as yet have not found a nice enough Jaguar or Daimler, but this ticked all the boxes:

Bought this for the wife (2001 VX Berlina) you will notice (in the states) that the recent pontiac GTO is a derivative of this) - This one has the baby engine (3.8 litre V6) they were also available with a supercharged 3.8litre V6 and a 5.7litre V8

Oh, and I have this too.... I use it for commuting to and from work - But I will admit it's not really a barge:

That is one super clean '98 Expl. It looks brand new. How many miles?

Thanks, she has covered 175.000 Kilometers which is about 108,000 miles

The parking brake might as well not be there - it does nothing to hold the car..... Hopefully they are fairly simple to adjust as I have a really steep driveway and don't trust it being held solely by the car being in 'Park'

I would have really liked the column shift and the floor mounted parking bake (I am used to that on the Mercedes) but it would appear that RHD cars both here and in the UK have it all in the centre console.

All the Aussie exports have it, I don't think I've seen a column shifter or foot operated park brake.

Really clean mate, looks great in that colour! Yeah we have an 04 Limited with the t-bar auto in the middle console, it kind of looks and feels cheap, as if it was an after thought at Ford. We stopped getting the Explorers here in 04 because Ford Australia started making their own SUV called Ford Territory.
