The 3rd motor is due in shortly.... I guess you got to give them credit for at least paying for the shipping of these boat anchors.

The broken gear on the crank is really sad. Of course, this was the "better motor than what we were going to send you...."

What would cause that to break like that?

Not sure how the lower gear was split, it seemed it was cracked, maybe we did something to make it come apart completely. The guides were trashed.

#3 arrived yesterday. We removed the front cover, the guides look almost new. So, maybe, LKQ heard that I had courtroom abilities.... it is now installed into an XLS. We studied the fact to remove the chain on the idler but opted to leave it alone. The original XLS engine will get new chains and guides it might---be inserted in the 99 XLT. It might sit in my workshop until I stumble upon a really nice XLT that needs a motor.
