So I’m having an issue where water is dripping from the map light switch on my ‘03 Eddie Bauer Explorer when it’s raining. Yes I’m checking my sunroof drains, but while I was up there I noticed at the windshield end of the roof gutters there’s, like, a hole or slot where the gutter dips down relative to the windshield gasket. This just looks all sorts of wrong to me. Is this normal? See pic below. I’m standing through the sunroof looking down at the driver’s side gutter where it meets the windshield and if you zoom in you can see the hole I’m talking about.

Does seem odd.… Mine has the same design, without having issues.

(Those sunroofs seem to get clogged drains.)

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. But is there anything plugging the home on yours? It almost looks like there are remnants of rubber gasket in mine, but I can’t tell. I just need to know if it is normal for there to be open holes there.

Mine seems to be open. I think the black gasket across the top is decorative trim, and not a seal.

Maybe there is a channel under there?
