The 2017 PIU was delivered on 1/6/22. I had to start by taking the center console plate off from between the buckets. I watched the videos on YouTube. I purchased the console itself from NennoPro which was very helpful. Then I had to get the PIU into Ford to check out the recalls, oil change and have them set the computer settings for what I wanted. All this time since they started the recalls and they STILL don't have the parts. Hmmmmm!
Anyway, I got the PIU back on Tuesday evening. Wednesday morning I installed the WeatherTech floor mats and the rear cargo mat.
I removed the panel with the cigar lighters attached and purchased the 110V/150W receptacle. I plan on running #8 gage wire from the battery through the channel in the back to the troth just behind the back seat. Then put a 1000W dc/ac inverter in that area with a battery cutoff switch before the inverter. Then #12 wire from the inverter to two outlets. The one in the front and one in the back. You will need to park the vehicle get to the troth and switch the power on so there is no accidental power left on. I am also going to have a switch for the power to the spotlights so nobody can play with them. It will be run off a relay and one of the switches on the steering wheel. The reason I put the pics up is so that you can also get the dimensions and how I cut it out! Slight boo boo on the top right side when I slipped with the grinding head to de bur! I will be installing heated seats in the summer and will put the switches for those in the rectangle panel above the 12vdc receptacle and 110vac receptacle. Between the two I will install a USB charger.

Update! Today is 3/25/25
Tore out the NennoPro and gave it to the better half (she has the same year PIU.
Custom designed the area to accommodate all the radio equipment for my storm chasing.
****
A few days ago it rained really hard. I went out to the car and there was 2" of water on both the driver's side & the passenger side.
The screen, the radio (AM/FM), and the HVAC totally drenched and none of it working. All the warning lights on the dash stay on and all the warning screens on the dash come up. I disconnected the battery for 1/2 hour and reconnected and it didn't do anything. I tore the headliner off to see if the (3) antenna NMO cables were leaking and they were fine. While there I sprayed them with FlexShield.
$2K worth of radio and radar equipment drenched, The seats were drenched also.
This morning I went to SafeLite and had the windshield replaced and this afternoon I dropped the car off at Evansville Ford. My Ins Co said I had $1000.00 deductible so the windshield was about $550.00 We'll see what the damages are from the Ford dealership!

When SafeLite replaced the windshield they told me they needed the spotlights removed. THAT was the easy part 5 minutes each and I was done. HOWEVER, now I have to figure out how to cut into the new trim pieces as they did NOT come cut out OR with a template. I put the old trim up to the new trim and traced out what needs to be cut. I would LOVE to know how the upfitters do this! UGGG!!

Was the windshield the cause of the water leak?
This video may give you an idea of how the spot light was installed initially.

Thanks Peter! I will check it out.
In the mean time ... Ins co said to look at the coverage in the fine print because it says that damage from water seapage is NOT covered.
I might just have no car now.

Just looked at that video! It sucks!
NOBODY shows how they cut in the trim to fit the outer chrome piece that holds the spotlight.

Thanks Peter! I will check it out.YES, the top bead was shot.

I found these pictures, but again it doesn't show how the plastic cover is cut. I'm guessing that they use a template of some kind.

The spotlight had nothing to do with the top seal on the windshield. According to SafeLite the top seal is what gave out that caused the whole problem. Here is the funny (well not so) thing about this. Farmer's Insurance adjuster told me. "I should learn how to read the fin print."
This is how much sense this all makes... If I left the windows open and there was water damage they would pay for stupidity but not a seal that went bad. Also how many people do maintenance on the top windshield seal of their vehicle?????
Attached is Farmer's Ins way of not paying! YEARS of paying to Farmer's insurance with no claims and THIS is what they do!
Seapage is one thing but this was a deluge of water that left 2" of water on the drivers and passenger's foot well.
BTW
Anyone know what module puts all the warnings on the dash? Do you know where it is located?
All the fuses were checked and they were all okay. Yes, I disconnected the battery over night and reconnected it and I STILL have all the warning lights on the dash! Funny thing is that the car still runs but I doubt I have any airbag protection.
