thanx brooklynbay for the link to the thread. i had to pull on the e brake cable under the vehicle and insert drill bit in hole at the e brake lever to release spring tension. i still had to pry and hammer the rotor off and it did pull the linings off the e brake shoes but the rotor did finally...

just joined today cause i can't seem to find info on my 03 explorer. trying to remove rear rotor but e-brake shoes are hanging up on lip/rust on inside of rotor. tried prying and hammering but as rotor starts coming off, it pulls e-brake shoes with, shoes **** inside rotor and rotor will not...
