    Ira, I have had the exact same expereince as you, right down to the codes, fuel pressure readings, lousy idle, poor fuel economy, check engine light on after 15 minutes, a "rich" smell from the exhaust etc, .... Throw away your inhibitions and buy the fuel pressure regulator, it will solve...

    Fuel Pressure Regulator Help

    I installed the Fuel Pressure regulator and it completely fixed the idle problem, fuel economy problem and the "rich" smell from the exhaust. Thanks again for all who replied.

    Thanks for the replies. I have decided to replace the Fuel regulator. I was able to order it from Wrenchead .com for 72.98 and it should be in by Friday. I will post again to let everyone know if it makes a difference or not.
