I replaced the rubber lines and blew out the steel line with compressed air. I wiped out the bore with a rag. Should I use something like a bore brush for a rifle bore to clean the area where the pin goes?

I replaced the modulator and it worked for a while now it does the same thing reverse only no Forward gears. Disconnecting the modulator doesn't help.
