    4x4brian you the man 2001 ranger coil pack is mounted on top of intake manifold. Engine heat and the high voltage (more heat) caused pack to short out and for #3 cylinder to misfire.     Thanks Brian, gotta dumb question to axe. Where are the coil packs, what do they look like? Can they be dryed, cleaned or just need to replace? BTW, like your boat drink statement. I'll drink to that!:)

    :us: I have an '01 ranger 2wd w/2.3L 4cyl. Heater hose 4 way junction broke and have repaired that. Yes it got hot on the road, but luckily I was only 5 miles from home. Shut her down, let her cool, added water 3 times and got it home to my shadetree. No leaks in repair but engine light is on...
