I work for Best Buy and own a 2000 that has the steering wheel controls. It IS possible to retain your controls with an aftermarket stereo.
You need a stereo that comes with a remote and then you need to buy a device that dupliacates your remote when you use your steering wheel controls...
Found out it was a loose cable going to the starter. I checked the voltage going to the starter first and there was 12V. Jacked it up and twenty minutes later it started perfect. Thanks!
I have a 2000 w/ the 4.0 V6 and this morning with it being -10 below it won't start. It doesn't even turn over. The dome lights, dash lights and fuel pump kicks in but there is nothing else. New Battery in July and it has 60K miles on it... HELP!
