    went up and bought a haynes manual and it suggests pressing the axle out with a wheel puller. too dark and too cold, try again tomorrow.

    I cannot separate the hub from the l/s outer spline end of the 1/2 axle. I have a chain bolted to the lug studs and a slide hammer and still no go. Did I miss something somewhere? I have the rotor off.

    atf change steventadams got it right! Anyway, going through previous posts I was finally able to figure out how the procedure was done. While I have the pan down is there anything else I should be looking at besides the condition of fluid and amount of stuff that accumulated by the magnet?
