    FWIW, this is a pretty simple repair. Did mine ('03 XLT) last night in just over 90 mins, start to finish. Did not go by the service manual (i.e., remove the instrument panel), just the advice in this thread. I removed the console (seven bolts), panel under the steering column (two bolts)...
